Minister allocates Russborough Failte Grant Aid
Minister Martin Cullen has announced the allocation of €2,251,000 for investment in Russborough as one of the six key National Visitor attractions receiving funding from Failte Ireland.Grant aid funding has been allocated for the provision of disabled facilities within Russborough House; The creation of an exhibition area to provide information about the history of the house and its gardens, as well as the development of the Alfred Beit Photographic and film records; The restoration of the 18th century walled garden, ice house, lime Kiln and parkland; and the improvement of car and coach parking facilities..
Planing Approval for West Wing
Planning approval has been received from Wicklow County Council for the refurbishment of the West Wing and supper at Russborough, which was previously occupied by Sir Alfred and Lady Beit. Russborough will link with the Landmark Trust in providing short-term self catering holiday letting facilities to both domestic and foreign tourists. The West Wing will represent one of the 25 or so prestigious properties which are available for ‘Holidaying Historically’ which the Landmark Trust promotes to its clients and customers.
The West Wing however will also be used for corporate and other events such as adult education classes, exhibitions, book launches and poetry readings. It will also be available to wedding planners as accommodation for bridal party, if a wedding party is held at Russborough

A Planning application has been submitted for the works to be carried out by the Grant Aid, to Wicklow County Council
Open House
The 2009 season is upon us! Although Russborough is open every day of the year for the guided tours, by prior appointment, the official season commences on Mothers Day, 22 March 2009. Russborough will be available for Sunday lunches, guided tours of the House, Parkland walks and the 20,000 ft. Beech Hedge Maze, on 22nd of March and an all Sundays and bank holidays through April.
Russborough is then open all day every day in the months of May, June, July, August and September. So please visit and experience over 250 years of history and art at Russborough
Milltown Mirror
The Milltown Mirror is planned to be returned to Russborough in the next couple of weeks. Made especially for the house in circa 1750, this will provide another very interesting piece of furniture for visitors to appriciate. Further information will be available shortly.
