Mr Eric Blatchford has recently been appointed Chief Executive of the Alfred Beit Foundation which oversees Russborough House and Estate. Eric has worked for 30 years in senior financial positions within large businesses including Irish Distillers and BWG.

On his appointment Eric commented' The Russborough estate contains one of the finest houses in Ireland built in a unique and tranquil parkland setting with magnificent views of the Wicklow mountains. It has welcomed large numbers of Irish and international visitors over many years to the Alfred Beit collection of paintings, furniture, silverware and porcelain. I am honoured to be given the opportunity by the Trustees to work with an extremely loyal, professional and committed staff in helping to re-invigorate Russborough'

Russborough has benefited in recent years from substantial Government grants which have facilitated much needed conservation work. Although further investment is required visitors will continue to be offered a tour of the magnificent house and access to the maze, cafe, and country walks within the estate grounds.

In addition it is intended to open Russborough to a series of new events including indoor and outdoor music & theatre, exhibitions, lectures & poetry, fashion shows, weddings, sporting events, fairs and farmers markets. The location will become available to as a film and television set whilst room hire facilities will also become available to Corporate clients.
