Castletown House is the most celebrated and magnificent Palladian style mansion in Ireland built in the 1720's. Russborough is a smaller Palladian mansion than Castletown house, built in the 1740s, but it is often referred to as 'the most beautiful house in Ireland. ' Powerscourt is renowned for being one of Ireland's great gardens begun in the 1740s and now stretching to almost 50 acres.
