An Evening of Poetry and Good Food with Ger Devine
Enjoy the magic of poetry, hearty food, and good company. Whether you’re a long-time poetry enthusiast or just looking for a welcoming way to spend a winter’s night, join us for an evening of poetry with the award-winning Irish poet Ger Devine. Ger’s life is a journey of rich experiences, from working on building sites in Dublin, Boston, and San Francisco, to his current role as a full-time firefighter in Dublin City. Now living in the inspiring Wicklow mountains, Ger draws on a life less ordinary to craft poetry that resonates deeply with the Irish spirit.
Known for his evocative and heartfelt verses, Ger will be sharing his poetry in a warm and relaxed setting, making this a night to remember. As you listen, enjoy a hearty meal that’s perfect for a cosy winter’s evening. Much of his work is inspired by traditional Irish ballads and the songs of Shane McGowan and Christy Moore, with a touch of influence from the great W.B. Yeats. As Ger shares his heartfelt verses, we’ll be serving a warming Beef & Guinness Stew, followed by a delicious Warm Apple Crumble – rustic dishes to make you feel right at home – the perfect comfort food to enjoy on a winter’s evening.
