This is a practical one day workshop in the use of lime in modern construction and in the repair of old buildings. The workshop will cover the use of natural hydraulic lime in different circumstances; a practical demonstration; correct mixing of mortar; application by hand & spray gun; finishing plaster, pointing & curing times as well as protection of work. Ed and Lisa will lead a walk of the venue visiting the on site lime kiln and the recently restored Weir Wall, discussing various render and finishes on the way.
The workshop will be delivered by Edward Byrne of the Traditional Lime Company and coordinated by Lisa Edden, Consultant Structural Engineer.
