The 2021 Sir Alfred Beit Bursary was awarded to Cora McDonagh. Cora’s PhD research with NUI Maynooth examines ‘Irish Country House art collections: Exhibitions, Estate Expenditure and Civic Bequests 1814-1914 . ‘
The award was presented by Professor Christine Casey of the Alfred Beit Foundation’s Board of Directors at the National Gallery of Ireland on Tuesday, 22nd September.

The aim of this biennual bursary is to support postgraduate students, art practitioners and researchers in carrying on research in the practice and history of the Fine Arts in Ireland. The value of the bursary is €2,000.
One bursary is awarded and is available to full-time postgraduate students, studying in any third level institution in Ireland.
