Are you interested in gardening, learning new skills, and helping to restore a historic treasure? The RHSI (Royal Horticultural Society of Ireland) is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join the team caring for the 18th-century walled garden at Russborough House. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting, this is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge while making a meaningful contribution to preserving part of Ireland’s heritage.
As a volunteer, you’ll get hands-on experience with everything from soil preparation to planting and propagating. There’s even a chance to work in the vegetable garden, learning about crop rotation, watering, and harvesting fresh produce. Volunteering is a fantastic way to enjoy the outdoors, meet like-minded people, and see the tangible results of your efforts as the garden continues to bloom and thrive.
Volunteers meet on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10:30 am, and whether you’re interested in coming weekly or just trying it out, no previous experience is needed—just enthusiasm and a love of nature! If you're curious, feel free to pop by on a Wednesday or Saturday to meet the team and explore the garden for yourself. We would love to have you on board to help bring this historic walled garden back to life.
