Spend a creative weekend at Russborough with artist Ed Reynolds for a two-day workshop designed to make oil painting feel more approachable, practical and enjoyable.

Ideal for beginners as well as those returning to painting, the workshop covers the foundations of working in oils, from understanding materials and mixing colour to brushwork, composition and layering. Through demonstrations, exercises and individual guidance, participants will build confidence while developing their own approach to painting.

Across the weekend, participants will work on a variety of studies including still life, landscape and more abstracted compositions. The course also explores tonal value, colour harmony, preparing surfaces, underpainting and glazing, with Russborough and its surroundings providing plenty of inspiration along the way.

By the end of the workshop, participants should leave with a number of oil studies, one or two more developed paintings, and a stronger understanding of both the technical and creative side of the medium.
