As Lá na Cruite | Harp Day 2026 draws to a close, Wicklow harpers gather at Russborough House for the premiere of Ceol Uisce, a new Cruit Éireann|Harp Ireland commission by harper-composer Aisling Ennis, supported by Wicklow County Council. The piece explores how water has shaped Wicklow’s landscape and the lives of its people. Its sources include St Kevin of Glendalough, the waterways that powered lead and silver mining in Glenmalure, a fisherman’s song for attracting seals, and the Irish Sea with its marine life. The names of Wicklow’s rivers and lakes are woven into the music, celebrating these waterways as part of the county’s natural, social and cultural life.
