Discover the magic of cyanotype printing in this hands-on creative workshop for children with White Doodle Art.
Young participants will begin by exploring the grounds and gardens, collecting interesting shapes, leaves, grasses, textures and natural treasures from the landscape. Back in the workshop space, they will use their discoveries to create striking blue-and-white sun prints, inspired by the beautiful cyanotype process.
Perfect for curious children, this workshop encourages participants to slow down, look closely at the natural world, and experiment with light, texture and composition. Using found materials from the estate, each child will create their own botanical-style prints while learning about one of the oldest photographic printing techniques.
This is a drop-off workshop, so parents and guardians do not need to stay.
Please wear old clothes suitable for art-making and outdoor exploration.
The workshop is free to attend and is funded by Wicklow County Council. Places are limited, so advance booking is essential.
