Marketing Assistant: Job Specification
We are looking for a creative, organised and digitally confident Marketing Assistant to support Russborough House & Park’s social media, content creation, campaigns and visitor marketing. This is a hands-on role for someone who is socially savvy and lives and breathes content, with strong creative instincts, sound digital marketing knowledge, and the ability to create reactive, trend-led content as well as planned campaigns that resonate with audiences and drive awareness, visits, enquiries and bookings.
Experience in hospitality, visitor attractions, heritage, events or estate venues would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Key responsibilities
Content, social media and digital channels
- Create and schedule content across social media, email and website channels.
- Produce platform-appropriate content including short-form video, photography, graphics and copy.
- Help manage day-to-day activity across social platforms, including community management and audience engagement.
- Capture content on-site, including events, seasonal activity, behind-the-scenes moments and visitor experience.
- Maintain an organised bank of images, video, templates and approved messaging.
- Keep website pages, event listings and practical visitor information up to date.
Campaigns, paid media and reporting
- Support marketing campaigns across organic social, email, web and paid advertising.
- Assist with paid campaigns across Meta, Google and other relevant platforms, including creative preparation, testing, monitoring and basic optimisation.
- Assist in the preparation and deployment of newsletters, event emails and follow-up communications.
- Monitor performance across social, email, website and paid channels.
- Compile regular reports on reach, engagement, traffic, enquiries, bookings, conversions and campaign performance.
- Help connect marketing activity with ticket sales, visitor numbers, online shop activity and revenue where possible.
Events, promotions and partnerships
- Support the promotion of events, exhibitions, visitor experiences, membership, retail, cafe and seasonal campaigns.
- Prepare marketing materials for events and campaigns, including social posts, email content, website listings, signage and print.
- Coordinate information, assets and deadlines with internal teams, partners, artists, organisers and suppliers.
- Assist with launches, open days, photocalls, media visits and on-site content capture.
- Maintain external listings across tourism, cultural and community platforms.
PR, design and marketing support
- Adapt templates and prepare basic marketing materials such as posters, flyers, signage, digital screens and social graphics.
- Support press activity by preparing approved press releases, images, captions and media information.
- Liaise with printers, suppliers and external partners where needed.
- Maintain marketing calendars, trackers, folders, contact lists and campaign records.
- Help prepare internal marketing updates, dashboards and summary reports.
Brand and visitor communications
- Help ensure all communications are accurate, on-brand and consistent across channels.
- Support routine visitor messaging, including opening hours, closures, access updates and frequently asked questions.
- Help communicate Russborough’s wider story, including its heritage, collections, landscape, charitable purpose and public programme.
- Research and develop content ideas that can be used across social media, email, website and campaign activity.
About you
You are creative, practical and commercially aware, with a genuine interest in content, social media and digital marketing. You are comfortable balancing creative work with organisation and reporting, and you can move easily between creating content, coordinating activity and reviewing results.
You will ideally have:
- Experience in a marketing, content, social media or communications role.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital content formats.
- Practical content creation skills, particularly photography, short-form video and copywriting.
- Good understanding of digital marketing and paid advertising, especially Meta Ads and/or Google Ads.
- Experience with email marketing, website updates and marketing reporting.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence working across multiple projects and deadlines.
- A proactive approach and willingness to contribute ideas.
- The ability to work well with colleagues, partners and external suppliers.
Desirable experience
- Experience in hospitality, heritage, tourism, events, weddings or visitor attractions.
- Familiarity with content management systems, email platforms and analytics tools.
- Experience supporting events, PR, listings, print production or campaign coordination.
- Understanding of the visitor, booking or events customer journey.
- A portfolio of relevant content or campaign work.

Role requirements
